About

Jon Singletary is a professor in the Diana R. Garland School of Social Work at Baylor University.  He has been on the faculty at Baylor for over 20 years and his teaching and research focuses on family, community, and congregational life.  In his time at Baylor, he has served as dean of the school and directed the Baylor Center for Family and Community Ministries.

Interested in how students discern vocation, how families learn to thrive, and how congregations plan their approaches to ministry, Jon began to work with the Enneagram through the writings of Kathy Hurley and Theodorre Donson.  Several years later, Jon met Suzanne Stabile, author of The Road Back to You, through her work with students at Baylor and he completed a three-year apprenticeship program with her. Jon went on to write his own Enneagram book and develop training program for leaders.

Jon is attentive to individual needs and desires that are core motivations shaping our personalities, as well as to organizational opportunities to improve leadership outcomes.  Jon’s desire to work for innovation and transformation is rooted in his faith and Christian teachings on God’s love and grace.
